Bridesmaid gifts, Part II: A pretty package

Previously:
Part I: Quality or quantity?

Yesterday, a UPS package was waiting for me on my desk chair. I was expecting a shipment of eyelets for our programs (a story for another post!) and some gold pens for other projects. But the box was kind of on the large size for pens or eyelets, so with great curiosity I opened it. Then I closed it again so I could take a picture of it for you.

As it turns out, what was inside was Part 1 of the bridesmaid gifts! When we left off, I hadn't decided between a moderately expensive (to me) pashmina for each girl, or a collection of more bridesmaid-y gifts. And lest the designation confuse you (as if Part 1 lended itself to a lot more parts)—I still haven't decided. But even if I went all out on the cashmere, I still need something to put the gift in, don't I?

The answer to that question is yes, I do need something to put the gift in, especially something this cute! For $6.99 each, I had a canvas bag printed at VistaPrint with each girl's first initial and a cutie-patootie bird pattern. Is it in my wedding colors or does it match my "theme"? Nah hell, no. Do I think it's adorable and would I like it? Yes! And since that's basically my criteria, I went for it. And let me tell you... it was hard not to order a sixth one for myself. ;)

Anyway they came out really nicely, and I look forward to dropping a lovely pashmina in each one to distribute at the rehearsal dinner...or maybe something else? Only time—and me, of course, eventually—will tell!
